Big Bang wins again: Numeris

Plus, viewership for the first round of the NHL Playoffs beat out last year's audience numbers.

The Big Bang Theory maintained its solid hold on the number-one spot for the most-watched TV program the week of April 16 to 22.

The CTV comedy took in an average audience of 3.19 million viewers, beating out all other single-night programs in the week, according to Numeris. It was followed by its prequel series, Young Sheldon, which drew in an average of 2.43 million viewers.

The two comedies were followed by three Global series: Survivor, Bull and NCIS.

This weekly report also measured the first round of the NHL playoffs, which brought in an average of 1.57 million viewers over six nights. This is up from last year’s broadcast of round one, which averaged 1.3 million viewers (despite there being more Canadian teams in the first round in 2017).

In every Anglophone market, Big Bang and Young Sheldon occupied the top two spots. For the Francophone market, La Voix continued its streak at the top of the pack, pulling in 1.78 million viewers.
