Big Bang back on top: Numeris

The three geniuses – Sheldon Cooper, Shaun Murphy and Sheldon Cooper – took the top three spots nationally.

For TV, three fictional geniuses were at the top of the ratings heap: Sheldon Cooper, Shaun Murphy and… Sheldon Cooper.

After a quick hiatus, CTV’s The Big Bang Theory was back on the air, meaning it ended up nabbing the highest average-minute audience of all single-night programs for the week of March 4 to 10.

The comedy powerhouse took in more than three million viewers. It was followed by two more top performers from CTV, The Good Doctor and Young Sheldon. Global rounded out the week with New Amsterdam and Survivor taking fourth and fifth, respectively.

Although Big Bang dominated nationally, it wasn’t bulletproof regionally. In Anglophone markets, while it took the top spot in Toronto/Hamilton and Calgary, it was beaten out by The Good Doctor in Montreal, and by other dramas such as The Rookie and New Amsterdam in Edmonton and Vancouver (plus, in both markets, a match-up between the Oilers and the Canucks).

For Francophone Quebec, reality show La voix continued to grab the top ratings.
