Bank of Montreal stays at the top: Media Monitors

RBC makes a significant splash in Toronto while CTV edges into top spot in Montreal.

Bank of Montreal continues to have a solid presence in both the Toronto and Montreal radio markets, according to the Media Monitors report for April 22 to 28.

BMO purchased 1,365 ad spots in the Toronto radio market to take the #1 position while Royal Bank gained some serious ground up from #31 to take the #2 spot with 1,209 buys. BMW Canada made an appearance this week at #3 with 1,198 buys

Banks, credit unions and other financial services were the top buying category in Toronto nearly doubling their spots with 4,363 this week up from 2,739 last week. Car and truck dealer associations took #2 with 3,421 spots followed by cars and trucks (Asian factory) in #3 with 2,008.

In Montreal, CTV edged up to the #1 spot (from #2 last week) with 456 plays. Last week’s top buyer BMO fell to #2 this week with 353 plays and RBC took #3 with 343 plays.

The Asian factory auto category remained the top buying category in the Montreal market with 1,346 buys. In the #2 spot with 859 buys, banks, credit unions and other financial services just barely edged out restaurants and nightclubs who remained at #3 with 834 buys.
