Open to those 30 years old and under, the Canadian Young Lions competition gives agency and marketer teams 24 or 48 hours to complete a brief for a non-profit organization (depending on the category). The top five teams virtually participated in the live judging stage of the competition on Tuesday, with the winners to be revealed on April 26 at the CMDC’s Annual Canadian Media Summit, alongside those from the Film, Print and Digital categories.
The winning teams will get the opportunity to represent Canada in the global Young Lions competition at Cannes Lions in June, with flights, accommodations, registration fees and delegate passes provided by competition sponsor The Globe and Mail.
This year, the Young Marketers were tasked with completing a brief for The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, and given 24 hours to develop an innovative idea to create awareness of the reconciliation journey and opportunities to move reconciliation forward that also link with their brand’s business objectives.
