Walmart Connect names sales, ad execs to leadership team

Meaghan Brophy and Sarah Wool-Smith join Walmart’s retail media arm.

As Walmart Connect Canada continues to expand its omnichannel advertising solutions, the retail media business has added two members to its senior leadership team.

Meaghan Brophy (pictured left) has been tapped as senior director of sales, and Sarah Wool-Smith as senior director of ad products. They will report to Leanne Gibson, who was hired in the past year as VP and managing director, replacing Dana Toering.

Brophy joins Walmart Connect after eight years at Rogers Sports and Media (most recently as director of agency and national sales), and is tasked with building relationships with executive-level leadership at agency holding companies and vendors, as well as leading the growing Walmart Connect sales team.

Wool-Smith spent the last 10 years at Google in various roles, and is responsible for evolving Walmart Connect Canada’s retail media product offering and measurement capabilities.

“These hires will help us continue to grow and deliver offerings that provide unparalleled opportunities for our partners to accelerate their connection to customers in a closed-loop, omnichannel environment,” Gibson tells MiC.

Prior to Walmart Connect, Gibson was head of industry at Meta for four years, with roles at Twitter (now X), AOL, Torstar’s Olive Media, and Yahoo.
