Meta announced today the expansion of its Meta Verified test to eligible businesses on Instagram and Facebook in Canada.
Meta began testing the Verified monthly subscription service earlier this year in New Zealand and Australia.
Verified has been created to help businesses stand out and enhance confidence with their customers.
The Verified toolbox includes authentication with a verified badge, brand protection via impersonation monitoring, account support and troubleshooting, and new ways for businesses to be discovered. A Meta Verified subscription complements the existing business tools available on the apps.
Meta has built Verified with safeguards such as a multi-step verification process and various checks into Meta Verified before, during and after a business subscribes. Eligibility requirements include: validation of business information, minimum tenure of a business account, a selected Facebook page or Instagram account and minimum page or account activity.
The company says the service will continue to evolve as the testing continues.
