The Government of Canada has replaced McDonald’s at the top of the AdEase radio charts for the week of March 4 to 10.

The latest report from the monitoring firm shows that the federal government recorded 6,076 combined occurrences, with 1,404 in Toronto alone. It placed second in Toronto and Calgary, third in Vancouver, Edmonton and Montreal, and seventh in Ottawa. The government returns to the AdEase ranking after a long absence since its last appearance between Jan. 29 to Feb. 4. During that week, it was the second most active advertiser, with 5,121 total occurrences.

McDonald’s came in second, with 5,466 combined occurrences. Toronto remains the market where the QSR buys the most, with 1054 occurrences this time. The company ranked first the previous two weeks, with 6,159 total occurrences from Feb. 26 to March 3, and 7,607 the week before.

Rogers Communications finished just behind, with 5,440 total occurrences, followed by Tim Hortons with 5,349. The restaurant chain is one of the week’s top movers, rising 477 spots in Ottawa. Specsavers Canada also climbed 314 places to tenth in Vancouver, while the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation jumped 138 positions to fourth in Edmonton.
