Rogers Communications was the most active advertiser for the week of Aug 5 to 11, according to the latest AdEase report.

The telco notched up 6,444 combined occurrences and ranked first in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto, and second in Ottawa. Toronto was the market with the highest number of occurrences (1,703). The company recorded a total of 6,257 incidents during the last week, from July 29 to Aug 4.

McDonald’s was another advertiser that increased its buy over the previous week. The QSR made 5,583 combined occurrences, placing second in Vancouver, third in Edmonton, fourth in Calgary and Ottawa, sixth in Montreal and ninth in Toronto. Ikea also posted 5,607 appearances, up 1,380 from the previous week, while Crave TV had 4,206, up 1,583.

Among the week’s big movers were Speedy Glass, which climbed 366 positions to fifth in Vancouver, Festibiere De Quebec, which moved up 42 places to tenth in Quebec, and Oricom, which jumped 36 spots to eighth in the same city.

On the category front, some of the highest-spending groups were QSRs, internet services and furniture stores.
