Jolt, the electric vehicle charging stations with double-sided digital OOH panels, has appointed a new VP of real estate.
The position will be filled by Justin Dempsey (pictured below), who will be in charge of identifying and accelerating site partnerships in Eastern Canada to expand Jolt’s network. The company is working toward its goal of installing 10,000 panels at 5,000 charging stations over the next few years. Dempsey will target high-traffic locations, covering a wide demographic range, according to the company.
Dempsey brings nearly 15 years of experience handling real estate development projects for the OOH advertising market. Previously, he worked at Outedge Media, where he oversaw the development of digital OOH networks, including a street furniture network spanning from Halifax to Vancouver.

Based in Toronto, Dempsey will work closely with Brendan Dillon, who has also been promoted to country manager. Dillon assumes the new leadership role, in addition to his responsibilities as senior VP of advertising sales, working with agencies and brands on advertising partnerships for the panels.
Jolt kicked off the construction of its first charging stations in Richmond Hill this week. The chargers will be installed on both public and private property in urban and metropolitan areas.
Besides offering free charging of electric vehicles via digital billboards, its stations will also have WiFi from Telus, thanks to a partnership Jolt signed with the telecom last year. Telus will also be responsible for Jolt’s ad sales.
The company is also looking to offer ad space in the dedicated app that drivers will use to charge their cars at Jolt stations. Brands will be able to access information collected in the app, including data on the peak hours drivers use the platform, interactions with ads and other engagement rates.
