The latest AdEase report shows that Spence Diamonds was the most active advertiser during the week of Dec. 2 to 8, with 9,046 combined occurrences.

The retailer ranked first in Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto, while coming in second in Calgary and Ottawa. It increased its spend compared to the previous radio buying week, when it recorded 6,441 instances.

Shoppers Drug Mart was the second-most active advertiser, with 5,900 total occurrences, up 1,845 from the previous week. Cora Restaurants came in third with 5,532 occurrences, followed by the Government of Alberta and Sunwing Travel, with 4,948 and 4,891 incidences, respectively. All three advertisers upped their purchases significantly over the previous week.

Cora Restaurants was also the advertiser who advanced the most in the Vancouver ranking, climbing 372 positions to ninth. Sunwing Travel was the leading mover in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, and Montreal, while Planet Fitness was the biggest mover in Ottawa and Maxi in Quebec.

QSRs, dine-in restaurants and bars, and grocery stores and supermarkets were among the highest-spending groups.
