Skip has teamed up with the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) to become the exclusive delivery app for the Juno Awards.
As part of the partnership, Skip will sponsor the Orange Carpet, where Juno Award-nominated artists and pop culture figures will make their red-carpet appearances. The sponsorship also includes interactive experiences, nationwide contests, and exclusive perks for members of Skip’s newly launched loyalty program, Skip+. Program members will be able to attend Juno Week events and have VIP access to the Orange Carpet.
Rachel MacAdam, Skip’s VP of marketing, said the partnership allows the Canadian homegrown delivery service to show its support “for all things Canadian,” while also offering Skip+ members opportunities to engage with the music community. “Skip has always been committed to bringing people together and enhancing experiences that celebrate the things that matter most.”
After launching Skip+ in November 2024, the company has been adding different brands to the program, which combines free delivery, bonus points and reduced service fees with offers and experiences for members. According to MacAdam, Skip+ was launched as part of the brand’s new platform, which focuses on offering rewards and experiences that resonate with the public’s interests. The company also wanted to appeal to a younger audience by partnering with brands they interact with and offering them new ways to save.
Meanwhile, CARAS recently renewed a partnership with TD as the principal sponsor and official bank of the Juno Awards. Both the Skip and TD deals come at a time when the country’s festivals are facing a critical moment due to the loss of major sponsors. Last year, Netflix stopped sponsoring several development programs at Canadian arts institutions in response to the government’s Bill C-11, and Scotiabank also ended its sponsorship of Toronto’s Contact Photography Festival after more than a decade of collaboration.
The 54th annual Juno Awards and Juno Week will be held in Vancouver from March 27 to 30, culminating with the awards on March 30 at the Rogers Arena. The event will be broadcast live on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, and CBC Listen. The national pubcaster also renewed its broadcast deal with CARAS for five years in 2023.
