Corus-owned Global has announced Rise will land on its mid-season primetime schedule in March, adding a bit more high school drama to its lineup.
The 10-episode first season focuses on seven high school students and their involvement in a drama program. Starring Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) and Rosie Perez (Bounty Hunters), the NBC series will air its first episode as a special preview on Tuesday, March 13 at 10 p.m. before finding its permanent home on the schedule (which has yet to be disclosed).
The series is produced by Jason Katims, executive producer and showrunner of popular programs Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, alongside Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller.
Global has been announcing mid-season primetime additions sporadically as the new year wears on. At the end of January, it announced the arrival of 9-1-1‘s fourth episode on Wednesday nights, and added the brand new A.P. Bio to its Thursday lineup in March (after special previews air in February).
Last week, it added the second season of Timeless to its lineup after NBC renewed the once-cancelled show.
