TSN ushers in new sponsors for Curling Skins

While local advertisers will play a part, national brands such as Kubota and Meridian Manufacturing have also stepped into the game.

TSN is set to touch down in Banff, Alta., next week for the annual TSN All Star Curling Skins Game, and it’s ushering in a new set of sponsors.

The tournament will take place Feb. 1 through 3 at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre and air live on TSN.

Returning sponsors from 2017 include the Rimrock Resort Hotel, as well as Banff and Lake Louise Tourism. New sponsors ushered in are Kubota Canada, Meridian Manufacturing, Eye On The Ice and Everest Funeral Concierge.

Last year’s games did not take place due to the airing of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. However, one difference is immediately evident: food brand Pinty’s Delicious Foods no longer holds the naming rights to the all-star game. Pinty’s originally acquired the naming rights in 2015. Prior to that, naming rights had been heldĀ  by The Travelers Companies. Pinty’s still holds the naming rights to numerous other curling events including the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling and the Pinty’s Cup.

TSN will air all six matches of the tournament, and will stream on its TSN Direct platform. The Bell Media-owned specialty network recently introduced a $4.99 day pass plan for its streaming service, allowing non-subscribers to purchase one day of broadcasts at a time.
