IPG Mediabrands has announced the latest move in a series of global c-suite shifts.
Performance marketing agency Reprise has promoted Dimitri Maex to the global CEO role. Maex has worked with the global offices for IPG since June, when he was brought on from mobile data services company Sentiance. After a summer serving as IPG’s global COO, he has been upped to CEO, reporting to IPG Mediabrands’ new global CEO Daryl Lee.
He will assume full responsibility for Reprise’s financial performance and for improving its capabilities in digital, social, search, mobile and ecommerce in order to support Mediabrands agencies UM and Initiative. Reprise is currently in the state of a brand evolution: what started as an agency specializing in search, SEO and SEM has since evolved to an integrated digital media and performance marketing offering (last year, sister agencies Society and Ansible, Mediabrands’ social and mobile agencies, were rolled under the Reprise banner).
Maex has a mixed background of tech startup and agency roles. Prior to Sentiance, he served as president of OgilvyOne, where he worked with clients such as IBM, AmEx and Unilever.
His appointment follows a whirlwind month at IPG Mediabrands which saw the appointment of a new global CEO at UM, a new CFO and chief communications officer for the IPG Mediabrands global office, as well as Lee himself, who was named global CEO in September.
As for Reprise’s presence in the Canadian market, a spokesperson for IPG Mediabrands confirmed to MiC that Matt Ramella remains managing director of Reprise Canada, while also sitting on the global leadership team as the head of one of its five global regions. Ramella is also spearheading the agency’s global Social Craft Excellence community in order to accelerate Reprise’s skills in performance marketing through integrated paid social and content.
