Dr. Oetker’s Giuseppe Pizzeria has been supporting hockey and local communities across Canada since its launch in 2015 and has expanded that effort by teaming up with the Western Hockey League (WHL).
Last year, the brand ran its Practice with a Pro contest with minor hockey teams in Alberta nominating teammates across the province for a chance to win a one-hour practice with Canadian hockey legend (and WHL alumnus) Jarome Iginla.
Through the new one-year partnership with the WHL, Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria will be expanding the Practice with a Pro contest across six WHL markets, with nine game nights in Brandon, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw, Red Deer and Swift Current starting on September 22.
In addition to the WHL partnership, the Practice with a Pro contest is being supported by a paid media campaign in Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan across social, digital, and broadcast channels, managed by the brand’s media agency, OMD.
The WHL will also promote the contest across the league’s social channels and via digital activations on WHL club websites.
“Last year we saw an amazing response from teams across Alberta, telling us why they have the greatest teammates both on and off the ice. We couldn’t have been happier with all the wonderful submissions,” said Indresh Kohli, executive head of marketing, Dr. Oetker Canada.
“We look forward to not only expanding this program into Saskatchewan and Manitoba but also for the partnership with our newest teammate the WHL so we can continue building meaningful connections with Canadians and rewarding great teammates across the country.”
