Netflix has tapped Nicolle Pangis to be its new VP, advertising for Canada and the U.S. She will be replacing Peter Naylor, who left the post this summer. Pangis will report to Amy Reinhard, president of advertising.
Pangis recently spent time as CEO and board advisor at Ampersand, and before that she worked at GroupM. In her new role, she will oversee the company’s advertising business across the two North American markets.
“I am so excited Nicolle is joining Netflix. She has a great reputation within our industry, both for the depth of her relationships with clients and partners, and her data-driven approach to streaming advertising. Together, we’ll continue to build and scale a great ads business for our clients and Netflix,” Reinhard said in a statement.
It’s a busy time for Netflix, which reported a 15% revenue increase in its latest earnings report. Membership for its ads tier was up 35% quarter-over-quarter and the streamer is on track to launch its ad tech platform in Canada in Q4.
North America represents Netflix’s most mature market, where it saw a 16% year-over-year increase in revenue, driven by 10% growth in average paid memberships.
