Canadians were ringing in the New Year by watching the Canada-US IIHF World Juniors game on TSN on Saturday night, with an average audience of 2.8 million (2+) viewing the game, according to BBM Canada.
Canada’s four games leading up to Saturday’s match-up against the US drew an average of 2.4 million viewers. The New Year’s Eve game drew the largest numbers for the week.
Numbers for last night’s Canada game versus Russia have yet to come in, but are expected to be larger as the match-up recreated last year’s Gold medal battle which drew a combined average audience of 6.9 million viewers on TSN and RDS.
