CTV moves Motive to Thursday night 10 p.m. slot

The network's latest crime drama is following a similar trajectory as Flashpoint, which started out on Friday nights, before filling the coveted Thursday night hole.

CTV, eyeing its next Flashpoint, has promoted its latest crime drama Motive to a cushy slot on Thursdays at 10 p.m. from this week.

That’s the former Flashpoint timeslot, and follows Grey’s Anatomy at 9 p.m. providing a lift.

Motive, which has been sold to ABC for its summer schedule, has this season average 1.04 million viewers each week on Sunday nights.

That made the Kristin Lehman and Louis Ferreira-starrer the top-rated new Canadian series this season, according to CTV.

Motive is following a similar trajectory as Flashpoint, which did well for CTV and CBS when it launched in a so-called “Friday night death slot,” before shifting to the coveted Thursday night slot.
