GroupM has announced it is expanding its management with the addition of Dominic Proctor as president of the WPP parent company.
The new role was introduced to strengthen the company’s senior management to meet the challenges and opportunities of today’s marketplace, said GroupM Global CEO Irwin Gotlieb in a press release.
Proctor, who most recently worked as CEO of WPP agency Mindshare will report to Gotlieb in the new role. Gotlieb becomes GroupM chairman as part of the reorganization.
The role of CEO at Mindshare will go to Nick Emery, who currently works for the agency in London as chief strategy officer.
“These changes represent a logical and important progression for us, and we’re confident that our clients and staff will prosper as a consequence,” Gotlieb said in the release. “Our rate of growth and the complexity of our business require that we constantly evolve. Media investment management sits at the crossroads of media, data and technology and we must be positioned to capture the significant opportunities that are on the horizon.”
The new structure will see Gotlieb focus on the overall strategic direction of GroupM and ensuring the company deploys data and technology to benefit clients and stakeholders.
Proctor will oversee management of GroupM agencies worldwide, which in addition to Mindshare include Maxus, MEC and MediaCom. Regional heads and CEOs of the company’s four major agencies will report to Proctor, according to the release.
