Ex-CEO of Catalyst to join LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions team

Jeff Lancaster is set to join the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions team on July 16th as Canada Agency Lead. He will work closely with Diana Luu, head of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions Canada, on growing business this side. Lancaster was previously the CEO of Catalyst from March 2008 until July 2017. After Catalyst, he co-founded Rainforest Digital, which was acquired by Burlington, Ont.-based digital marketing agency, Jan Kelley, this April.

Cinco and Dentsu Live team up in Toyko

Canada’s Cinco and Japan’s Dentsu Live announced a new partnership. Dentsu Live and Cinco will “co-create consumer engagements and content using technologies including AI, AR, Mixed Reality, Internet of Things, VR, Sensors, and Bots,” according to a press release. Cinco has offices in Toronto, Montreal, New York, Beijing and Toyko, focusing on sponsorships and experiential marketing campaigns for clients such as Pepsico Canada, the Toronto Raptors and Sirius XM.

CityNews announces on-air teams for new local editions

The on-air teams hitting the airwaves for the five new local editions of CityNews have been revealed. As previously reported by MiC, the daily news show currently airing in the Greater Toronto Area will debut localized formats in five new Canadian cities. The nightly newscasts will debut in Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal on Sept. 3, while the Edmonton and Winnipeg editions will debut a day later. Six on-air journalists were announced for each of the CityNews editions in VancouverEdmontonWinnipeg and Calgary. The new hires in Vancouver will be joined by veteran Breakfast Television reporters Mary Cranston, Thor Diakow and Greg Harper. And four reporters were announced for the Montreal version.
