Jill SmallFormer Starcom planner moves to M&K

Toronto-based media agency M&K Media has expanded its team to take on a new media account director. Jillian McDonald (pictured), who has more than 15 years experience across both media and creative industries, will take on buying and planning for key accounts. According to M&K, McDonald’s hire is the direct result of new business wins, including Conagra Foods Canada. While McDonald has worked with creative agencies such as Cossette and Bos, she spent the past eight years leading planning on major CPG accounts with Starcom Canada.

Jungle Media adds three

Jungle Media has added a new digital media supervisor, Laurie Marchand. Marchand has worked in agencies for 15 years, starting as a graphic artist before moving into strategy and supervision roles with Vizeum, Starcom and, most recently, Dentsu. Phillippe Pelletier, former assistant digital planner with Cossette Media, has also moved to Jungle Media, taking on a specialist search engine marketing role. Éliane Cormier, former VP of marketing and communication with AIESEC Canada, will also join the search engine marketing team. All three will work out of the Vision 7 agency’s Montreal office.

Kjiji staffs up display, auto teams

Kijiji has staffed up both its advertising display team and its ad sales staff. France Brunelle, former national sales manager with Olive Media, is now the classifieds company’s director of national sales, advertising display. Also new to the company (and reporting to Brunelle) is Veronica Lalletti, senior director of national accounts for the advertising display team. Prior to her hire by Kijiji, Lalletti worked as an account executive at Exponential, Postmedia, Sun Media and more.

The eBay-owned company has also appointed three new leaders across specific verticals. Will Harris, a former dealer group manager with Kijiji, will work as national head of sales for autos. He will manage a sales team of more than 25 account executives to target advertisers on Kijiji’s dedicated auto sales vertical. Rohit (Bobby) Jaitley has taken Harris’ former position of national head of dealer groups. Jaitley has more than 10 years of experience in digital sales and marketing specific to the automotive industry, and most recently worked as the digital marketing manager for Leggat Auto Group. Finally, Robert Karbaum has joined as head of business development, and will be responsible for developing and executing Kijiji’s commercial growth strategy, identifying partnership opportunities across the site’s vertical categories, with a focus on autos. He previously worked as the national digital strategy manager at Dilawri Group of Companies.

Bell Media bolsters radio talent

Bell Media has added Shannon Ella to London’s station Today’s Big Country BX93, taking the hosting chair for the midday position. Ella will also work as a contributor to iHeartRadio Canada. Ella, who has long worked as a host and content editor for Warner Music Canada-owned digital country music hub Complete Country, made her on-air debut Aug. 11 during iHeartRadio Canada’s live broadcast of the Boots and Hearts country music festival in Ontario. On top of her Bell Media hosting duties, Ella will continue her work with Complete Country.
