Both positions are newly created and will focus on leading teams and delivering insights that guide clients through the buying, planning and activation process.

Ventura comes to the agency from Zenith, and has also held positions with Mediacom, Universal McCann, Starcom and M2Universal. Brands she’s managed include Johnson & Johnson, P&G, Kraft, Starbucks, Yum Brands and BMW. She has also acted as a consultant for non-profit organizations assisting with their rebranding initiatives.

Zhang (pictured right) has been in media and planning for 13 years. He has held management positions with OMD, Dentsu and UM, and got his start as a senior broadcasting negotiator with Mediacom. His client roster includes a special focus on the entertainment sector, including Warner Bros. Entertainment, HBO, Sony Pictures, Elevation Pictures and CBS All Access.

Both Ventura and Zhang will report to Kevin Kivi, EVP and GM of Horizon Canada.

Horizon has been gradually staffing up its operations since it launched in Canada one year ago. The outpost also added three new executives in November following its win of the Tim Hortons account. Besides its high-profile win of Tim Hortons’ Canadian media business, other global wins for Horizon include Benjamin Moore and Burlington Stores.
