Major League Soccer is back (and so are brands)

TSN will broadcast 54 matches between July and August.

There are more reasons for sports fans to get up and cheer. TSN, the official English-language broadcaster of Major League Soccer in Canada, is celebrating not only the return to play for the league, but also the return to its milestone 25th season.

The returning tournament, dubbed the MLS is Back Tournament, will begin July 8 and end with the final on Aug. 11, with all 54 matches broadcast on the Bell Media-owned specialty.

All 26 MLS clubs are set to compete at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida with all group stage match results counting toward the 2020 MLS regular season standings. The tournament will feature heated rivalries and marquee matchups including Canadian teams The Montreal Impact led by head coach Thierry Henry and the Toronto FC with star winger Pablo Piatti going head-to-head Wednesday July 15 at 9 p.m.

In addition to the teams returning, brands are also back.

Heineken serves as the presenting sponsor of the group stage of the tournament. The knockout stage consisting of 16 matches played as doubleheaders is sponsored by Audi. The team that wins the tournament earns a spot in the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League.

G.E. Appliances Canada is a big supporter of soccer in Canada and is a partner with Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps and youth soccer across Canada. G.E. branding will be evident during the tournament as a sleeve patch on the jerseys of the Toronto Football Club.

The tournament features play-by-play and analysis from Luke Wileman and Steven Caldwell with Kelcey Brade serving as host for all Toronto FC and Montreal Impact matches, and Peter Schaad and Paul Dolan calling all Vancouver Whitecaps FC games.

All tournament action will be available for live streaming and on-demand viewing to TSN and TSN Direct subscribers via TSN.ca/Live and the TSN app.
