Goodfood returns to top Toronto airwaves: Media Monitors

Meanwhile, the Government of Quebec continued to purchase the most radio spots in Montreal, while McDonald's activity surged in both markets.

Online grocery, home meal and meal kit brand Goodfood is this week’s most active radio buyer in Toronto, knocking Volkswagen off its perch.

Media Monitors data for the week of July 26 – August 1 reveals that Goodfood bought the most radio airtime in the Toronto market. In Montreal, meanwhile, the Government of Quebec remains the number one buyer in that market, ahead of Sleep Country sub-brand Dormez-Vous.

For both regions, McDonald’s was a surging performer, rising from its 87th and 93rd positions to number two and number three in Toronto and Montreal radio markets.

Insurer Belairdirect also kept its buy strong, moving from fourth in Toronto last week, to third. The brand’s activity slipped a bit in Montreal, from number five after last week’s number four showing.

While for both Toronto and Montreal, QSR brands (The Golden Arches and Subway) took two out of the top six positions, theĀ  category overall was dominated by wireless carriers Telus, Virgin Mobile and Rogers, which took four of the top 20 slots for Toronto, and two in Montreal.
