Shoppers Drug Mart continues to dominate the airwaves for the week of Nov. 27 to Dec. 3, according to the latest AdEase Radio report.
The drugstore chain grabbed first position in four cities, including Vancouver (pictured), and left McDonald’s – who has been the most active advertiser in some of the last few weeks – in second place overall. While Shoppers aired a total of 9,519 ads, McDonald’s ran 9,030 combined ads and ranked first in Edmonton, Montreal and Quebec City.
Telecommunications companies remain among the top 10 most active advertisers. Rogers is no longer on the top-10 list, but Bell had 354 combined ads and Freedom Mobile a total of 2,175 ads. Telus Corporation entered the list after moving up 22 positions to rank ninth in Vancouver and 15 spots to finish fifth in Calgary.
Another big mover of the week was Subway. With 5,957 combined ads, the QSR climbed 107 positions and placed fifth in Ottawa, as well as 116 spots to take third place in Toronto. In Montreal and Edmonton, it rose 97 and 156 positions, respectively, and ranked fourth in both.
