Spotted! Disney wraps up brand awareness

The media co is making sure that even if a Disney+ subscription isn’t on the list this Christmas, it will still be under the tree thanks to branded gift wrap stations in malls.

Disney is promoting its streamer’s seasonal programming with free gift-wrapping stations at two malls in Toronto and Vancouver.

The stations, which are made up of four golden structures that give them a square shape and a massive golden ribbon on the roof, opened last Friday and will be available at Cadillac Fairview’s Toronto Eaton Centre and CF Richmond Centre until Dec. 24.

Disney is promoting them through its social media accounts, as well as on Cadillac Fairview’s website. Disney’s experiential agency, Simon Pure Marketing in Toronto, worked on the activations.

The new Disney+ programming called Season’s Streamings began rolling out this month and includes family films such as Black Beauty and Safety and holiday movies and specials, such as Home Alone, The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special, High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special and Godmothered.

Disney launched its AVOD service in Canada in November, naming Rogers Sports & Media as its sales partner. According to Rogers, the addition of Disney’s streamer delivers “an overall unduplicated reach of 18 million adult streamers.”
