Telus is updating its Stream+ bundle with popular streaming services and new tiers to reach more Canadians.
Stream+, which already offers Netflix, Apple TV+ and Discovery+, will now bundle Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video into two offerings: a basic package, which features ad-supported versions of the new services, and a premium deal. The new tiers, available starting at $20 per month, represent a 17% monthly savings for users who pay for each of these services separately, according to Telus.
“In an era of multiple streaming options, bundling your favourite streaming services into one subscription to save money each month is a no brainer,” said Telus SVP of mobility and home products and transformation Dwayne Benefield in a statement.
“And in the coming months, Stream+ will be further enhanced to give Canadians the ability to fully customize their entertainment experience by adding other streaming service providers to their bundle to enjoy even more savings,” Benefield added.
Stream+ will continue to include Telus TV+ and Telus Films and Series offerings, which include original titles from Telus, Telus Presents and Storyhive.
Telus introduced the streaming bundle in 2022, following a survey conducted by the non-profit organization Angus Reid (on Telus’ behalf) that revealed 87% of Canadians used at least one streaming service, with 90% saying they would merge the platforms if possible. Eighty-three percent thought it would be better to bill all services together.
