Meta expands Instagram creator marketplace

The social network is also testing new custom AI to help advertisers match with the perfect creators.

Consider it a dating app, but for brands and creators.

Over the next few weeks, Meta is rolling out its Instagram creator Marketplace to eight new markets, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, U.K., Japan, India and Brazil. Creators and brands in these markets will be able join the marketplace, which helps brands discover compatible creators for collaborations.

Brands join Instagram’s creator marketplace in Meta Business Suite while creators join from their professional dashboard in the Instagram app. Creators can indicate brands and interests relevant to them and create a portfolio to highlight what makes them unique. Brands can search for creators, filtering for creator and audience attributes. They can also see a list of creators who have expressed interest and check out creator portfolios.

In addition to the marketplace expansion, Instagram is testing new custom, machine learning-powered recommendations features to help brands easily find and match with creators who are the best fit for their campaigns. Testing of this feature began testing in the U.S. in 2022 and has now been expanded to Canada. The recommendations tool uses Instagram data to find the best match. Eligible brands can access these recommendations over the coming months on Instagram’s creator marketplace in Meta Business Suite.

Once brands and creators come to an agreement, they are ready to create. Advertisers can boost organic Instagram content as partnership ads, including branded content with the paid partnership label, or they can create new partnership ads in Ads Manager.

Brands can reach out to creators directly or create and send a project to multiple creators outlining the branded content or partnership ad opportunity. Creators can review the details and requirements of the opportunity, as well as the rate, all within the Instagram app.
