Toyota remains the most active advertiser on the radio.

The latest AdEase report shows that the automaker made 5,266 combined occurrences between April 15 to 21, which led it to take the top spot for the week. The company, which dominated the airwaves the previous week, finished first in Vancouver, second in Calgary, Quebec and Edmonton, fifth in Montreal and eighth in Toronto.

The second most active advertiser was IKEA, which scored 3,648 combined occurrences, most of them in Vancouver. Chevrolet came in third position with 3,594 total occurrences, followed by Rogers Communications with 3,085.

IKEA was also one of the week’s biggest movers, climbing 380 places to fourth in Edmonton. Rogers also moved up significantly in the AdEase ranking – it jumped 134 spots to tenth in Calgary and 122 to first in Toronto.

In terms of top ad-spots, IKEA was #1 in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton with 2,904 combined occurrences of an ad highlighting its low prices. Bell ranked first in Toronto with 1,292 occurrences of its Pure Fibre Internet spot, while Mazda finished first in Quebec with 260 occurrences of its CX-5 commercial. Toyota, meanwhile, ranked sixth in Calgary and Edmonton and fifth in Quebec. The market where it made the most occurrences (547) was Calgary, and the ad was about its RAV4 model.
