McDonald’s topped the list of most active radio advertisers for the week of April 28 to May 4, according to the latest AdEase report.

With 10,926 occurrences, the QSR led as the top advertiser in Vancouver, Edmonton and Ottawa, while ranking second in Calgary and Toronto, and third in Montreal and Quebec. The majority of its ads promoted its McHappy Day campaign (pictured), which supports families with sick and injured children by donating proceeds from purchases on May 8 to local organizations across Canada.

IKEA dropped to second place with 9,689 occurrences, despite boosting its ad frequency from the previous week. Subway came in third place with 6,618 occurrences, up from last week, while Telus was fourth with 5,747, down from last week. Tim Hortons rounded out the top five with 5,620 occurrences, driven by its Smile Cookie campaign, which introduces a special chocolate chip cookie in its stores, with proceeds going to local charities and community groups.

On the category side, QSRs and furniture stores ranked high across cities like Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. TV and streaming services, such as Crave TV, also featured prominently in cities like Ottawa, Toronto and Quebec City. Meanwhile, local government and telecommunications companies like Telus and Bell also appeared among the top advertisers in several cities.
