People Moves: MediaCom, Integral Ad Science and more

Plus, one of Toronto's e-sports franchises has upped its management.

New faces at MediaCom

GroupM shop MediaCom has staffed up its account teams this summer. Coming to the agency from OMD is Claire Crombez, who will work on various accounts. She’s been in media buying for 16 years, starting out with Media Dimensions before moving to Due North, StarCom, OMD and, eventually, MediaCom. Also coming from OMD is Alyssa West, who will be starting with the agency next week. West has been hired specifically on the Bayer team, which is supervised by industry veteran Jodi Peacock. Also on the Bayer team is Chandni Mishra, who joins the agency from Ethnicity Matters. Both will serve as media executives on the file.

Robert Rames moves into a new side of advertising

After three years of managing accounts at Blue Ant Media, Robert Rames has moved to Integral Ad Science (IAS), where he will take on the position of senior account executive. Rames says this represents a new chapter in his career, since IAS does not buy or sell media. Instead, IAS specializes in verifying ad impressions across platforms and devices, as well as the ads’ effectiveness on consumer actions. Rames previously managed accounts at Obox Media and Rouge Media. IAS was recently acquired by Vista Equity partners its former Canadian lead, Dave Mallon, recently left the company.

Google gets new support for ads and B2B

After seven years on the agency side, Zaitoon Murji has moved to the media side. Murji is now at Google Canada, managing communications on both Google’s advertising and B2B operations. Murji has previously managed accounts at Proof, the Mint Agency and Arts & Communications. At Proof, Google was among her clients.

Toronto e-sports franchise staffs up its management

Toronto’s new Call of Duty e-sports franchise has its first general manager. Dominique Gelineau will serve as GM of the franchise, which is owned by Toronto-based e-sports entertainment organization OverActive Media. She has been in the Call of Duty ecosystem for years now, starting out as a top all-female team coach and commentator. Her professional background is in HR, recruitment and talent management. In her new role, Gelineau will manage day-to-day operations while also overseeing sponsorship and media partnerships. OverActive Media also recently hired two media and marketing veterans, Alyson Walker and Tyler Keenan, to head up business and partnership operations.
