At the Meta Connect event on Wednesday, Sept 25, Mark Zuckerberg said that the company will be expanding its AI-powered business chatbots to brands on WhatsApp and Messenger via click-to-message ads.
Businesses can now set up ad-embedded chatbots that talk to customers, offer support and facilitate orders. From answering common questions to talking about products and finalizing a purchase, the new features can help companies interact with more customers and increase sales, said the company.
According to Zuckerberg, Meta’s generative AI ad creative tools are gaining wide adoption, with over one million advertisers using them and over 15 million ads created with the features last month. Last May, the company launched AI-powered capabilities designed to assist advertisers in developing ad creative variations and automate certain parts of the ad creation process.
Meta is also testing new AI capabilities to make Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook experiences more enjoyable and useful, Zuckerberg said at the event. One of the latest improvements will allow users in Canada, the U.S. and Australia to speak with Meta AI and customize the voice they want to hear. The company is also experimenting with automatic video dubbing and lip-syncing on Reels to allow customers to see more content in their favourite language. That feature will also allow creators to reach more people around the world and connect with their followers in a more meaningful way through more engaging content, the company said.
Additionally, personalized content for each user will display in their Facebook and Instagram feeds, with the option to give it a new direction or swipe to see additional content imaged for them in real time.
More than 400 million people are already using Meta AI, with 185 million people using it through the company’s products every week, according to Meta.
