MMVAs bring in over one million on Much and CTV

The Bell Media show has reported its final numbers for the broadcast, which aired on both channels for the first time.

Bell Media brought in just over one million viewers (1,019,100) to this year’s broadcast of the MMVAs, which aired on both Much and CTV for the first time this year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show.

According to final numbers from Numeris, 518,600 people tuned into the broadcast on Much and 500,500 tuned in on CTV. A release from Bell Media says numbers for the show peaked at 1.4 million for Ariana Grande’s performance, which closed out the show. It also says the show grew by 26% in the 18- to 34-year-old demographic compared with last year.

The show brought in more than 310,000 mentions on Twitter during the broadcast, and saw more than 50 million votes cast for the three “Your Fave” award categories on Twitter, Instagram and Much.ca.

Bell Media says this year’s broadcast of the MMVAs was the second most-watched ever. The highest viewed show was in 2011, bringing in 1,048,000 viewers on Much.
