Axel Dumont, former president of Quebec for GroupM, has been named SVP and GM of Quebec and East for Cossette Media.
In his new role, Dumont will join the agency’s executive team and oversee operations for Cossette Media east of Ontario. He’ll work closely with Brooke Leland, his counterpart for Ontario and West, and Wes Wolch, SVP and chief strategy officer.
Dumont will report to Vision7 Media president Joseph Leon. He was appointed to the newly created position after what Leon called “a year of historic growth, aggressive innovation and rising industry recognition.” He called the appointment “significant.”
Last year, Cossette Media received bronze in strategy‘s Media Agency of the Year awards. Recent key wins include Casper, Canopy Growth, Sun Life Financial, Koho, Curling Canada, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft SEO, RTC (Reseau de Transports de la Capitale), Les éleveurs de porcs du Québec.
Dumont held his position with GroupM since 2015. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade in progressively senior roles with the former agency MEC (now part of Wavemaker) at its Paris outpost.
