OMD Canada has been announced as the media agency of record for the Canadian Olympic Committee, effective immediately.
The agency announcement comes on the heels of an RFP put out last fall, which saw OMD sister agency Proximity take on the digital and creative AOR duties for the organization.
Derek Kent, CMO, Canadian Olympic Committee, said OMD’s work with brands including McDonald’s and Visa made them a good fit for the Olympic account, leading up to the London 2012 Olympic Games this summer.
“OMD is really the perfect choice to help tell our athletes’ stories,” Kent said in a release. “Their passion for the Canadian Olympic Team, experience with sports brands and outstanding track record make them an excellent fit to amplify our London 2012 campaign brand launch.”
