Jungle Media bolsters planning staff
Jungle Media has made several changes to its media staff. It’s upped Roberto Pardo, who has been with the agency as a media planner for three years, to the media planning supervisor role. Pardo previously worked as a marketing strategist at ThinkCompass, and also sits on the CMDC as a youth ambassador. Additionally, it’s hired recent graduate Daria Bajus as an assistant media planner. It’s also added Aisling McCabe as a performance specialist. McCabe spent the last three years in Canada working in the paid search and content fields; prior to that she worked as a reporter and researcher in Ireland.
Nextdoor hires head of marketing
Maryam Banikarim has joined social network Nextdoor as head of marketing, to work with Canadian lead Christopher Doyle on raising the profile of the emerging platform within the Canadian market. Banikarim most recently served as the global CMO of Hyatt Hotels. Nextdoor went live in Canada in September, with Doyle’s hiring marking its official launch into the market.
Beyond adding a marketing lead, Nextdoor has been investing in expanding its Canadian team: Alison Craig is the country’s new community manager; Christopher Lambe has joined as a marketing operations specialist; Anne Morello is heading PR and communications; and Evan Spence and InĂ©s De Parisot have been tapped as field organizers to identify growth opportunities for the app in Western Canada and Quebec, respectively. Early ad partners for Nextdoor in Canada include the Canadian Red Cross and the City of Edmonton.
Kantar adds new Canadian VP
Kantar has just announced the hiring of Cam Baskey as VP of client leadership. Baskey, who has more than 20 years experience on the client and research agency sides of the industry, including BMO and Maritz CX, was hired in an effort to strengthen Kantar’s customer experience platform.
