Sportsnet to stream and broadcast Secret Dream Gap Tour

The broadcast marks a Canadian milestone, featuring PWHPA players across live game coverage, exclusive content and cross-platform promotion.

Secret Deodorant and Sportsnet have teamed up to deliver exclusive English-language TV and streaming coverage of the Canadian leg of the Secret Dream Gap Tour, the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association’s seven-day event running from May 24 to May 30.

The six-game, round-robin series – with each team playing each other twice for a total of four games each – will culminate in a championship match, crowing the Canadian Secret Cup Champion. The Dream Gap Tour first ran in 2019.

The event is in partnership with the Calgary Flames, the PWHPA’s fifth NHL partnership this season, and features sponsor-named teams Team Scotia Bank (Calgary) and Team Bauer (Montreal) joining previously announced Team Sonnet (Toronto).

Sportsnet will be streaming games from May 24 to May 27, followed by three national TV broadcasts from May 28 to May 30. The broadcast reportedly marks a Canadian milestone, the first time PWHPA players will be featured across live game coverage, exclusive content and cross-platform promotion.

Secret Deodorant and Sportsnet will also collaborate to complement the live coverage through a content series featuring Erin Ambrose, Melodie Daoust, Brigette Lacquette and Sarah Nurse, set to air nationally on Sportsnet’s Hockey Night in Canada, along with Secret earmarking ad spend to Sportsnet and providing players with additional income and exposure through social partnerships.

The Secret Dream Gap Tour is part of the $1 million commitment Secret made to the PWHPA last fall. The deodorant brand first signed on as a title sponsor for PWHPA’s showcases in 2019, shortly after the first Dream Gap tour.
