Dentsu Canada has appointed industry veteran Jennifer Lewis as Carat’s chief client officer and member of the Canadian media leadership team at Carat.
In her new role, Lewis will work alongside Dentsu Media president Sarah Thompson and be responsible for account management and client experience.
“Jennifer is a powerful leader who can mentor our people, be an advisor to clients and push all of us in media at Dentsu in new and exciting ways,” Thompson said. “Carat is one of the largest media agencies in Canada, and Jennifer will bring profile, presence and ‘oomph,’ as well as inspire our people and clients with a caring and considered passion for media. In one word, ‘swagger’ is coming to Carat in Canada with Jennifer at the helm and supported by an exceptional group of people.”
Lewis brings more than 20 years experience to her new role, most recently as SVP in the Los Angeles office of Starcom. She joined that agency in 2006 after roles at several Canadian agencies, including Starcom Canada, FCB Toronto and The Media Company.
“It’s an exciting time to be at Dentsu” Lewis said. “We’ve got a new leadership group that is ambitious and has a real vision under the courteous guidance of Sarah Thompson. In addition to the impressive client roster, it was important for me to join an organization who champions meaningful progress and is on a mission to help clients navigate, evolve, and thrive in a world of change.”
Lewis takes on duties previously held by Caroline Breton, who left Carat earlier this year to help Active International launch a new standalone media agency in Canada.
