The latest AdEase report shows that McDonald’s is the most active TV advertiser for the week of March 4 to 10.

With 2,782 total occurrences, the QSR entered the top 10 in all markets, finishing first in Vancouver and Calgary and third in Toronto and Montreal. The prior week, the company made 1,886 occurrences and ranked in all cities except Montreal. The last time it dominated the TV market was between Feb. 12 and 18, when it recorded 2,109 occurrences.

Tim Hortons came in behind McDonald’s with 1,913 combined occurrences, up 1,188 from the previous week, followed by Ford dealers with 1,817. The automaker joined the AdEase rankings after a short gap since its last appearance on Feb. 19 to 25, when it had 439 occurrences in Toronto alone. Behind Ford was Crave TV, with 1,713 occurrences.

In terms of categories, the groups that moved up the most were regular soft drink, which rose 22 spots to seventh in Vancouver, financial planning, which jumped 20 places to ninth in Montreal, and anti-aging, which rose 18 positions to tenth in Toronto. Nationally in specialty, the week’s biggest movers were detergent brand Gain, which jumped 42 spots to ninth, and Subway, which climbed seven spots to tenth. Swiffer also advanced four positions to third, while Downy advanced seven to second.
