Spotted! Tostitos and Susur Lee open “tasting windows”

The activation is inspired by the wine windows of Florence, and will raise funds for Second Harvest.

Inspired by the wine windows of Florence, Tostitos has partnered with Canadian chef Susur Lee to open a “Tostitos Tasting Window” in Toronto and, next month, in Vancouver.

As with the wine windows, guests of the activation can approach a small window and receive a flight of three Tostitos chips, each topped with flavours created by Chef Lee, free of charge.

Additionally, guests will be invited to press a “Chip In” button to automatically generate a donation to Second Harvest, a charity that recovers surplus food and redistributes it to feed people in need. With each bite served, the Tostitos brand will donate $1, to a maximum of $50,000 combined from both the Toronto and Vancouver events.

Aside from aiding the community, the goal of the activation is to show that Tostitos aren’t just vessels for melted cheese and salsa. They make for a perfect blank canvas upon which one can create new flavours.

“Tostitos chips have always been about more than just nachos – they’re a catalyst for unforgettable moments and shared, flavourful experiences,” said Jess Spaulding, CMO of PepsiCo Foods Canada. “We’re delighted to bring the spirit of our brand to light through this collaboration with Chef Lee and serve these bites that celebrate the diverse and delicious palates of Canadians, and the places they call home.”

In Toronto, those flavours on offer are: Thai Coconut & Pineapple Dip served on Tostitos Restaurant Style tortilla chips, Bacon Caesar Dip served on Tostitos Scoops! tortilla chip and Miso Ginger Tofu with Sweet Pickle Dip on Tostitos Rounds tortilla chips.

The flight will be different in Vancouver. There, the three bite flight will be Indonesian Sambal Onion Cashew Dip on Tostitos Restaurant Style tortilla chips, Garlic Butter Wild B.C. Shrimp Dip on Tostitos Scoops! tortilla chips and Harissa, Date & Pinenut Dip served on Tostitos Rounds tortilla chips.

“I love the diversity of Canada and leaned into that for each of these recipes. I can’t wait to share them at our Tasting Windows in Toronto and Vancouver,” says Chef Lee.

In Toronto, the Tostitos Tasting Window will be at 147 Spadina Avenue from May 22 to May 26 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In Vancouver, the experience will be located at 804 Granville Street beginning on June 5 and running through to June 9 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
