Michele Erskine named VP of Astral OOH

The OOH veteran was most recently CEO of the Canadian arm of Outedge Media, which was recently purchased by Bell.

More than a month after Bell Media’s acquisition of Outedge, Outfront Media’s Canadian arm, Michele Erskine was named VP of Astral OOH, also owned by Bell.

Erskine spent more than 19 years with Outedge Media Canada, formerly Outfront Media Canada and CBS Outdoor. She started as director of marketing, and spent the past seven years as CEO. Erskine is also currently chair of the COMMB board of directors.

While the Competition Bureau consented to Bell’s acquisition of Outedge in June, it did have concerns that the merger would lessen competition in Québec City, Trois-Rivières, Sherbrooke, the Greater Montréal Area and the Greater Toronto Area.

As part of the Competition Bureau’s agreement, Bell was mandated to divest a total of 669 advertising displays across the five markets. The Bureau considered the differences across Bell and Outedge’s outdoor assets, with the agreement ensuring that a purchaser has a sufficient diversity of assets to effectively compete with Bell.
