Destination Vancouver picks Havas and Noise Digital to lead media

The agencies will help lead a digital shift at the city's tourism board.

Destination Vancouver has named Havas Media Group and Noise Digital as its media agency of record, following a competitive review.

Destination Vancouver supports the city’s tourism industry by promoting Vancouver in key national, U.S. and international markets to attract leisure travel, meetings, conferences and other major events to the city.

The city’s tourism bureau is beginning a digital shift, so Havas and Noise Digital have been tasked with focusing on data and analytics to transform the client’s marketing approach. The agencies’ integrated solution to deliver data-driven performance marketing, strategy and advanced analytics were the major factor in determining Destination Vancouver’s partner selection.

“It’s an exciting and competitive time in tourism,” said Noah Vardon, president of Havas Media in Canada. “The team at Destination Vancouver are true innovators and we have built a unique partnership together that will accelerate their vision for the world class city. Our partnership will activate personalized and meaningful media experiences.”

The first work in the assignment will be handling media planning for Destination Vancouver’s U.K. and Australia’s winter travel campaigns.

Noise Digital specializes in data, digital marketing, media automation and marketing technology. Havas bought a majority stake in the agency earlier this year.

Noise is based in Vancouver, with offices in Toronto and Montreal. The agency is familiar with the tourism space, having previously worked with Destination Canada and Destination BC.
