TVA+ and TVA Sports Direct land on Roku

The new channels provide more French-language content for viewers, as well as more sponsorship opportunities for brands.

TVA Group, a subsidiary of Quebecor Media, has launched TVA+, it’s existing digital destination, on the Roku platform, providing more French-language content to Canadians on the platform. TVA+ features an array of entertainment, news, public affairs programming, and sports, including the NHL and MLB. TVA+ is now available on all Roku devices and TVs.

“The addition of TVA+ marks a significant milestone in the expansion and availability of French-language content on other platforms, such as Roku. We’re proud to offer Roku users access to all content from TVA – Quebec’s most-watched TV network – as well as access to TVA Sports Direct,” says Guillaume Ber, senior manager, Video Strategy & Broadcasting at Quebecor.

As TVA’s digital destination, TVA+ includes Quebec’s most popular original content – often surpassing one million views – as well as a catalogue of nearly 100 movies and series from here and abroad. The wide range of original shows includes Indéfendable, Si on s’aimait, Alertes, Sorcières, and Révolution, plus popular Quebec adaptations such as La Voix, Sortez-moi d’ici and Chanteurs masqués, the family-friendly variety series that has ranked #1 in Canada (regardless of language) for three consecutive seasons. TVA+ also features TVA newscasts, along with several public affairs and sports programs.

Included in TVA+ is TVA Sports direct, available with a choice of two subscription packages. It is the exclusive French-language broadcaster of the National Hockey League (NHL), including Saturday night Montreal Canadiens games and all playoff games. The channel also offers Major League Baseball (MLB), WTA tennis, the National Bank Open, the Laver Cup, and UFC galas.
