Nissan and RW&CO. among the new sponsors of Juno Awards

TD Bank Group, SiriusXM Canada and TikTok return as sponsors of the awards, which will be held next March.

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has secured a handful of sponsors for the 53rd annual Juno Awards, which will be held in March in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Nissan, RW&CO. and SponsorshipX joins TD Bank Group, SiriusXM Canada and TikTok as regular sponsors of the awards, along with Audio-Technica, CBC Music, Don Julio Tequila Blanco, Destination Indigenous, Long & McQuade and YouTube.

Nissan will be the official vehicle of the awards. In addition to presenting the Electronic Album of the Year award on the opening night, the automaker will launch on-site activations including red carpet artist drop-offs in the all-electric Nissan Ariya. The company will also be present at the Juno Block Party, displaying its new electric SUV.

RW&CO. will run a Juno Week Artist Ambassadorship Program, photographing two-time Juno award winner Tobi in branded clothes throughout the awards week. The photos will be turned into a lookbook for RW&CO’s spring/summer collection. It will also offer styling sessions to nominees.

SponsorshipX, meanwhile, will host a sponsorship conference around the Juno Awards, focusing on “The Future of Fandom,” from March 22 to 24. The event will include panels, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities with key people from sponsoring, music, entertainment, and culture.

TD Bank Group, premier sponsor of the awards, will develop on-site activations, including the TD Fly Past the Line, which will allow guests to skip the line by showing a TD credit or access card. It will also launch other activations at the JUNO Songwriters’ Circle and the JUNO Opening Night Awards, and host a fan contest. The company’s sponsorship also includes the presentation of the Junos’ Submissions Access Program, which supports independent Canadian artists from underrepresented communities and helps with submission fees for the awards. This year, the program received over 400 applications and resulted in 12 nominations.

SiriusXM returns as a sponsor for the 17th consecutive year, acting as the awards’ official streaming/satellite radio provider. SiriusXM will have a strong presence at the Juno Opening Night Awards, according to the company. It will also deploy on-site activations on the red carpet.

TikTok will be the official voting partner and sponsor of the TikTok Juno Fan Choice award, allowing fans to continue voting for their favourite Canadian artist on the app. This year, TikTok will allow users from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom to participate.

For the third year, Audio-Technica will be the official pro audio provider of the awards. It will present the Jack Richardson Producer of the Year award, and will give a package of pro audio equipment to eight nominees. It will also exhibit its products and host consumer contests at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.

Diageo will offer Don Julio Blanco Tequila, Johnnie Walker Scotch Whiske and Ketel One Vodka at the Juno Chair’s Reception, Juno Opening Night Awards, and the Juno Red Carpet Lounge. It will also offer a tasting to fans attending the Juno Block Party.

As part of a multi-year agreement, CBC is once again the exclusive digital content partner and broadcaster. It will air the awards on March 23 on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music and CBC Listen. CBC Music also returns as presenting sponsor of Junofest, a multi-genre music festival. As part of its on-site events, CBC will launch an interactive photo activation at the festival.

Destination Indigenous will present the Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year award, while Long & McQuade the Adult Alternative Album of the Year award. YouTube, in its second year of sponsorship, will present the Single of the Year award.

Last year’s Junos TV broadcast drew 2.3 viewers on CBC, as well as 516,000 listeners on CBC Radio and CBC Music. The audience increased 7% on CBC Radio One over last year. According to CARAS, tickets to last year’s awards ceremony at Rogers Arena were almost sold out.
